I have reached a rather desperate point. I haven’t been working out regularly and I haven’t been eating very well and have gained at least 40 pounds since this time last summer. My job has been sucking up all the time and energy that had previously been going into mountain biking. Enough that I am nearly one year from riding a 12 hour mountain bike race and in bad enough shape that I need to start over. Tomorrow will be day one of starting over. My plan for the first three months, which should take me through most of the summer, is to do weight training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Cardio will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. My objective is to do this all starting between 5:00 and 5:30 am. I am going to start my cardio with running and try to work my way up to 3 miles in 30 minutes. I have to get all my clothes and my meals together for tomorrow.
