was what and how I ate.  Too much and too often!  I ended up dying in the middle of my workout this morning and had to quit because I just couldn’t go.  I will try again tomorrow to see if I can do any better.  After I make sure I drink enough water and get enough rest today.

The rest of Easter was awesome.  Our church was able to have an Easter Breakfast at our new temporary facility.  It was awesome to see so many people show up for that.  We also had an awesome service about the hope the resurrection of Jesus gives us.  Then it was time for the family to come over to our small house for Easter Dinner.  The food was awesome and far too plentiful, but it was far nicer to have everyone over.  Almost everyone in the family has to drive at least 45 minutes to get to our house, so it really was quite an honor to be able ot have them.

He is Risen!

He is Risen, indeed!

Well I did manage to get a decent workout in Thursday night.  I did a 1 hour “warm-up” for the CTS Mountain Bike Racing video.  Below is the heart rate, cadence and speed chart captured using my Garmin 305.

After Thursday, my year to date numbers are:

557.2 miles total (40:39:44)
123.36 miles on my Mountain Bike (10:07:56 mostly on the road)
433.84 miles on the Trainer (30:31:48)

After great ride on Saturday, I fell pretty flat this week. Instead of getting out of bed and working out like I normally would, I took advantage of my new work at home position and slept in. So here it is Thursday and have not worked out all week. Perhaps this evening I can get a good workout in on the trainer, since the weather has decided to return to winter. My lame excuse for not working out has been that I have had an itchy rash all week. I finally went to the doctor yesterday and the best guess is that I had an allergic reaction to something external. My best guess is laundry detergent. So now I am on a Steroid for 6 days and it does seem to have an impact on the rash. The rash is reduced and less itchy. I will spare you the pictures :-)

I really am lame.  The first thing I did was get a 3 hour training ride in.  I rode from my house out to Maybury State Park, rode 2 laps on the “Winter Loop”, and rode home by way of Hines Part.  The “Winter Loop” exists because the other 3-4 miles of the Maybury State Park trail are not open until 4/15.  Then I spent time with my wife until she had to go to work and the rest of the day with my daughter.  My daughter and I didn’t leave the house for the rest of the day.  It was great.

I really intend to celebrate my birthday (or at least being in my 40′s) by participating in a 12-hour endurance mountain bike races this summer.  The first one is May 19th and all things considered I am feeling pretty good.  I really need to focus on losing weight to make this easier on myself.  I am down 5 pounds from the first of the year, but that seems pretty insignificant for all the hard work I have put into training.
